Brian Wills’ vibrant abstract compositions explore the sensations made possible by color. Precisely articulated vertical lines in various arrangements create vibrating images – reminding us of the wonders of vision itself, where stillness can become active and the inorganic can come to life. Brian’s works reflect upon the complexity of vision itself – as a physical, emotional and intellectual form of interacting with the world.
Brian Wills was born in Lexington, KY and received his MA and law degree from Harvard University. His work has been shown internationally, including exhibitions at The Happy Lion, Los Angeles; Museum 52, London; Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego; Michael Janssen Gallery, Cologne; and Gallery Min Min, Tokyo. In 2007, he was recognized as one of forty-five painters to watch under forty-five years old by the Los Angeles Times.
